Riding the Google Travel Roller Coaster

Semantic Search Tourism

Last week I came across an article that reported how Google had had virtually made organic search results irrelevant on mobile.  This of course threw me into a bit of a spin.  Did it mean that we all had to pay to be shown on Google these days?  It is what we all fear, deep down.  However, there was a mention at the end of this article that it was an experiment and that we were not sure if this was going to be the status quo forever. So I contacted David Amerland over the weekend to get some clarification. He also said that Google is always … [Read more...]

Mobile Travel Research Statistics

travel research

MICE Business: Do You Really Understand Your MICE Customer?

by Carolyn Childs 6 Comments

MICE Business Travel

Not winning as many Meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) business as you would like? You need to understand your MICE customer. It’s the oldest saying in marketing that you need to know your customer. Yet I continue to see hotels, venues, and destinations that make elementary mistakes in their relationships with MICE buyers because they don’t understand their needs. One of the most common mistakes is to focus solely on the end consumer: the company for whom the event or incentive trip is being organised. And worse, solely on … [Read more...]
