Reflections for the end of 2023 – and 2024

by Carolyn Childs Leave a Comment

As we come to the end of 2023 (how did that happen so quickly) we’ve been looking back and reflecting

ere devastated to see the referendum on a Voice to Parliament fail.

But lots of hope too…

But we have also seen signs of hope as communities come together, amazing individuals provide leadership and success stories of new and better ways to do tourism begin to emerge.

There’s a lot to do still, but these stories give us the hope and energy to carry on.

 A particular shout out to:

– Debbie Clarke and Josie Major for their Stories of Active Hope course.  This really was the ‘wind’ beneath my wings this year.

– The team at World Tourism Association for Culture and Heritage for getting the Global Leadership Summit off the ground in Valencia.  As a first year there was a lot to learn but this different way of ‘doing conference’ has a big future in culture and heritage tourism

– Our amazing partners (especially and in no particular order) SHP, Mayvin Global, Visitor Economy Tourism Consultancy, Visitor Economy Development, Glow and RPI.

– And of course, you our clients and friends of MTR

Looking ahead to 2024

We’ll be continuing to monitor trends.  We’ve also got content planned to help deal with things like recession, connecting with key audiences like visiting friends and relatives and many others.

And so

Just finally we wish you all peace and happiness and a fabulous 2024.

Thanks Carolyn, Noe and Charles
